Various and Sundry

Mattaya's "new fun thing" is the couch...

"Mommy, I want UP here."

To her, it's a "Bouncy Castle".

She repeatedly throws herself against the back of the couch and belly-flops on the seat. She also crawls back and forth over parent-made obstacles, taking an occasional break to "love the couch".

And then there's the slightly bizarre walk after the fun has been had.

Mattaya has learned a variety of animal sounds. Here are two of her favorites:

The spaghetti-faced elephant

The spaghetti-faced owl

Mmmm--this girl LOVES Swedish meatballs!

Here's some proof of what a tease she is. Gramma Julie told her to bring MOMMY the candy bar. Since she doesn't know what it is, we fully expected her to complete the delivery. Instead, she blew right past me...

...and tried to sample it HERSELF!

So Gramma showed her "The Stash" (but didn't unwrap anything, of course).

Mattaya thinks candy bars are delicious!
(Just wait until she ACTUALLY tastes one.)

Later that day, she got pretty close. Gramma Julie had some homemade chocolate chip cookies. Here Mattaya is inspecting the proposed snack.

A little taste

Yum!
She demolished that thing! And what a mess she was....

Thanks for the outfit, Auntie Cindy!
Our friends at church really liked it. ;)
This might be an appropriate place to mention Mattaya's "Captain Jack Sparrow walk"--hips forward, hands out, slight swagger.

We're always excited to see exactly what type of bedhead Mattaya will have each time she wakes.

Please pass the Q-tips

The Gramma Cam

So we swiped Gramma Julie's camera just to see what was in it...
These are the "picture-perfect" ribs Matt made a couple months ago. They actually tasted EVEN BETTER than they looked!

This is one busy girl.

Did you know that in order to play you have to completely empty the toy bin and spread all the toys out before you can select and interact with a toy? It's true. Even if the thing you want to play with is the first thing you pulled out.

Something's funny...

We play and play all day.

This pretty dress was a bit old-fashioned. Mommy and Gramma got a steal of a deal at a garage sale.

Mattaya can usually be found emptying bookshelves or sitting down reading books.

Mattaya has many looks...

Dazed

Mischievous/Happy

The Close-Up

Pouty

Sleepy

She's not long without books. And selecting a book can be quite the process. Just as with toys, she must empty the bookshelf to peruse her options.

Skimming the back can help guide the decision.

And a selection is made.
