Her response to being asked to help.
This was the outfit we were originally going to use for Mattaya's 9-month pictures. We put it on and stood her up...and saw 3-inches of mid-rif. So we went with Plan B. :)
Ooooh, that sideways glance looks a little mischievous!
Dressed and ready to go garage-saling with Gramma Julie.
"Just let me put on my sweet shades before we take off."
"These are my OTHER sweet shades."
"Do I look super-chic when I put the bow in my mouth?"
"Grampa, why are we standing here?"
Hey, Mattaya, what does Daddy look like in the morning?
And what does Mommy look like in the morning?
Grampa Gary's gift is ready to be mailed.
Mommy and Mattaya had this brilliant idea to make a card for Daddy for Father's Day. Ahem. These are the repeated attempts at high-fives...
So we resorted to knuckles.
Daddy was trying to be sneaky (no flash).
Reading is a VERY common occurence at our house.
This is Mattaya's new "game" (not toy). Mommy fills the bucket, then Mattaya dumps it. Over and over and over. Fun game!
"Mmm...I love green beans and Cheerios!"
"Gramma Julie and Grampa Dave took me shopping one day. We came back with a new toy and some shoes!"
Tryin' out the sweet kickers.
She's continually distracted by the plants at Gramma's house...mostly because she's not allowed to touch them.
The Father's Day Feast was a success!
Great-Gramma Mabel, Great-Aunt Lynette, and Great-Aunt Marlys joined us for the celebration.
Matt might have had an attitude problem.
Something about waiting for dessert until the table was cleared?
Grampa Dave LOVED his new apron. :)
"If you take me walking, I'll be your best friend."
There was a Father's Day cake...
(Mabel and Dave share a birthday. Becca's is one day later.)
Kudos to Luke for picking out a snazzy dress for Becca. ;)
Now that Mattaya has her own shoes, she's become intensely interested in trying on everyone else's.
Mattaya looks somewhat concerned about her family line.
Grampa & Gramma model their marvelous matching aprons.
Mattaya can stand holding on to things now.
Contemplating the climb.
"Hey, Mom, look at me!"
Mattaya LOVES books. She'd rather have books than toys. And reading is the only thing for which she'll stop walking.
Ready to enjoy a nice HOT day.
Mattaya is very much The Examiner. We've seen her inspect carpet fibers, upholstery fibers, tags...and now a speck on the fridge. This particular speck had her attention for long periods of time several days in a row.
"Tiny things make me SO happy!"
Perhaps TOO many green beans and Cheerios?
Finally some successful teething!
Mattaya cut a tooth on June23.
#1 First you hike your keester way up in the air and balance on your toes.
#2 Then you fall down to your knees.
#3 Launch forward and belly-flop.
#4 Repeat steps 1-3.
A couple classmates from college and I got together with our babies for a brief playdate.
Mattaya and Gannon are checking each other out while Stella wonders what all the craziness is about.
Mattaya tries to console the crying Stella.
Gannon claps, Stella cries, and Mattaya wonders how to get off the couch.
Mattaya gives Gannon a little poke.
Great-Aunt Marlys bought Mattaya this funky pig. It sings. It dances. It makes Mattaya laugh.
Mommy and Mattaya stopped by the Moving Sale.
Mirror images, these two.
Mattaya inspects the specks on Gramma's arm.
Mattaya loves to walk up and down steps.
Over and over and over.
Then there was a wacky surprise half-birthday party for Matt at Gramma Julie's house. Uncle Luke and Great-Aunt Cindy even got to partake in the festivities. All gifts were second-hand...
This was an attempt to get a picture of the newly-cut tooth.
Reading a wordless, pictureless book with Great-Gramma Catherine.
After visiting The View, we had lunch at Michael's with Cindy, Karen, and Gramma Julie.
Mattaya was very cooperative and was rewarded with her first french fry!
She's actually crawling a bit better now.
Not so much of the belly-flop action happening anymore.
And many of her walking treks end at the piano.
She tries to STEP up onto the bench which indicates she'd like to stop and tickle the ivories a bit.
We took a quick break from helping Uncle Luke and Auntie Becca move into their new house to attend Mattaya's first Small Group BBQ. This particular BBQ was to celebrate Josh and Angela's engagement which happened just moments before (INSIDE the house...not in front of everyone).
Mattaya picnicing with Cheerios.
Not to be outdone, Grampa Dave shows off his ballet skills.
(I was just a bit slow in getting the camera up. Shoot.)
On days that are too hot to walk outside, we run to the BX to look at toys and people.
