Lost Footage

So I was looking for some pictures on our computer the other day and stumbled upon a batch that never made it to the blog. Whoops! Chronologically, these would fit somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas...

Mattaya can identify her eye, nose, ear, hand, hair, and bellybutton. "Eye" is pretty much the only one she actually says [as she stabs you in the eye with her little finger].

Grandpa Gary selected this cute little Purdue dress. While it claimed to be 2T, it was awfully small...very short...so we thought maybe it's more like a dress-shirt intended to be worn with black stretch pants...but the sleeves were quite tight. Hm.

She's running around like a goose on the loose...partly because she's not usually allowed to run around after bathtime and partly because Nanny Julie and Manny Dave came to babysit.

From this angle, it looks like just the right size!

Not so much from this angle...

"If I just keep moving, maybe they won't put me to bed."

And move she did. (No, that's not all diaper...the volleyball happens to be very unfortunately aligned with her bum.)

Sad baby! Why is such a big baby being bathed on the kitchen counter in a baby tub? Because our pipes froze! That night when I took her up for bathtime, there was ICE frozen in the bottom of our tub. The drain plug was frozen in an open position, and no water would pour forth from the spout. Thank God for housing maintenance guys! It was fixed before we went to bed...unfortunately for Mattaya, not before her bath time. She was a very, very sad baby.

She looks to Daddy for sympathy and saving...but Daddy just keeps taking pictures!

During that particular storm (we've had several this year), temperatures were bitter, and the wind was even moreso. Matt, being the man of the house, bundled up to shovel the driveway.

Fashionable, huh?

One Saturday, Gramma Julie came over to get some pictures of Mattaya in her Christmas outfit (for a Christmas card or calendar or something). Unfortunately, the pigtails weren't quite so cute that day...

And Mattaya wasn't feeling terribly cooperative (but, really, what one-year-old WANTS to stand still for a picture?).

There's cooperation! But not the angle Gramma wanted.

That day she was pretty sure her back side was her good side and wouldn't show the other side for the camera.

"That's enough of that."

Speaks for itself.

Stinking arm in the background!

Our timing (and everything else!) was just OFF that day!

So we gave up on pictures and decided to color instead.

She's actually been doing a pretty good job on her own now. :)

The end.
